Jennifer Granholm offers advice for presidential candidates

Jennifer Granholm sits down with AOL to discuss lessons in leadership. After two terms as governor of Michigan in some of the state’s toughest economic times, Granholm knows a lot about leading through adversity.

“The most challenging aspect of leading during tough times is knowing there are things beyond your control. You have to focus on the things you can fix,” she said. “You have to recognize that it’s bigger than one person.”

Her advice for the field of presidential candidates she is covering every day on The War Room with Jennifer Granholm on Current TV?

“They must become obsessed about how to create jobs in America in a global economy,” Granholm said. “We can either be at the table of economic opportunity or we can be on the table — and eaten for lunch. I, for one, prefer to dine.”
