The Road We've Traveled

The Obama campaign will be releasing a documentary film entitled “The Road We’ve Traveled” that covers the accomplishments from the President’s first term in office. The 17-minute film is narrated by Tom Hanks and directed by Davis Guggenheim who previously directed the Oscar-winning “An Inconvenient Truth.” It starts with the state of the economy as the President took office in January 2009, and looks at the events and the steps we have taken to reach the recovery we are seeing now.

The film will be shown at campaign events starting next week, and it’s a pretty sure bet that it will be available online, too. You can sign-up at BarackObama.com to be notified when the full movie is released on March 15th.

A trailer for the film was released today, and in it you will see a picture of our own Governor Granholm from her time on the President’s Obama’s Economic Recovery Advisory Board. Also on that board was economist and professor Laura Tyson, who will be joining us tonight in ‘The War Room.’ They were both in the room when then President-elect Obama was given the first big briefing on the economy. Laura Tyson will talk with us about what it was like to be in that room on that day when the president was given his first economic briefing. “What was described in that meeting,” says David Axelrod, former senior White House advisor, “was an economic crisis beyond anything anybody had imagined.”

You don’t want to miss this. Tune in tonight at 9 p.m. EST / 8 p.m. PST.
