President Obama went to Oklahoma today calling to speed up construction of the Keystone XL oil pipeline. It’s a controversial move because it doesn’t go far enough for the “drill baby drill” crowd, while also enflaming the liberal wing of his own party and their environmentalist compatriots.
No one expects the president’s statement on the Keystone pipeline to lead to lower gas prices. So tonight we’ll take a longer view on energy policy. We’ll examine how the President’s latest moves on energy fit in with long-term solutions to America’s energy problems. Michael Mann author of “The Hockey Stick and the Climate Wars: Dispatches from the Front Lines” will be our guest and he’ll tell us why the U.S. needs to invest even more in alternative energy solutions.
Also up for the president, his health care law will be reviewed before the Supreme Court next week. If it is overturned, what would that mean for health services for women, children and the disabled? NARAL president Nancy Keenan will join us inside “The War Room” to make sure everyone knows Mitt Romney’s positions on women’s issues. Is this war?
And then we return to the tragic death of Trayvon Martin, and how the Florida teenager’s murder continues to enrage the nation. Kamau Bell will tell us why he’s disappointed in the president for not speaking out against this heinous crime.
We’re also looking forward to a visit from Stephanie Miller, whose new show on Current TV launches Monday. She’ll share her views on the political news of the day and will tell us about her upcoming morning program.
Look for all this and more tonight on “The War Room” at 9 p.m. EST, 6 p.m. PST only on Current TV. If you have questions you want to ask our guests or thoughts on the show, tell us on Facebook or Twitter.
