Why do people need the right to kill anything with a gun?

By Mark Berniker, Executive Producer, ‘The War Room with Jennifer Granholm’

Mitt Romney stands before The National Rifle Association’s annual convention and serves up red meat to the conservative faithful. Wow, that took a lot of courage, Mr. flip-flopper seizes a golden opportunity to show people he is more of a conservative, than they know he’s not. Are they that stupid to suddenly think you’ve became genuine: I think not.

The presumed Republican nominee very clearly used scare tactics to effectively say: President Obama will take your guns away. Hey Mitt, did you say that when you were running for Governor of Massachusetts? Actually, you did not, you pretty much said the opposite. And the President has never said that he has any intention of overturning the Second Amendment, or taking anyone’s gun away.

I just don’t get it. How can people rationalize the idea that it’s acceptable to have a Glock on a holster as they go down to Wal-Mart to buy another gun. Because remember, President Obama is going to take all your guns away. Are you crazy or just paranoid?

Tonight on “The War Room” we take a no nonsense approach to the issue of gun rights and gun control ahead of this year’s election season. Leading gun control advocate John Rosenthal joins us on the program, and he’ll separate the fact and fiction on Mitt Romney’s stance on the gun-toting wing of the Republican party.

Hey, if hunters want to shoot pigeons, it’s not my cup of tea, but go for it. I’m rooting for the pigeons, not the bullets. But weapons that kill have no place in this, or any society. Frankly, we’ve gotta stop killing each other. Who can make the argument that a gun carrying society is a safer one for anyone? It’s gone way too far already.

We’ll talk about this and more live tonight at 9 p.m. EST and 6 p.m. PST, only on Current TV. Join us at current.com/thewarroom, or on Facebook and Twitter!
