In the second day of the five-part series profiling openly LGBT candidates for state and local office, PA candidate, Brian Sims, joined guest host John Fugelsang, and discussed Romney’s stance on marriage equality and how Romney’s waffling is more likely a reflection of the polls than a reflection of his personal beliefs.
Democratic strategist Donnie Fowler joined Fugelsang in The War Room and tackled Romney’s veepstakes process. Comparing the process to “a bad version of the dating game,” Fowler endorses Rubio, a right-wing tea party Republican and newcomer to Federal office for being wrong, wrong, wrong on the issues. “This is not a plus for Romney.”
Rebuild the Dream’s Van Jones also joined Fugelsang and talked about how to energize the base for President Obama and the biggest political threats from the right. Jones pointed out that Romney is “already running to the right of George W. Bush on everything,” and he said that fear — or terror — of the tea party has united the left.
In the Web exclusive, Fugelsang talked about the relationship between religion and politics, why religion is the basis of much of his comedy, and the controversy between the Vatican and American nuns.
