“The War Room” guest host John Fugelsang hit the streets of San Francisco Thursday afternoon to see how well educated the locals are about U.S. history and politics. Check out his Q&A with the locals in the “Could you pass the immigration test?” clip.
Then, in “The War Room,” Ruben Navarette Jr. told us about Romney, saying, “Mitt Romney walks into the room with a long history of flip-flopping. He always portrayed immigrants as takers, as moochers, as spongers.”
Humorist W. Kamau Bell discussed when to use the race card with guest host John Fugelsang. “Why you gotta play the race card? Stop dealing me the race card,” Bell said, pointing out that Attorney General Eric Holder is likely being targeted because of his race. Bell told Fugelsang, “It’s clear the old boys network only works if you’re an old white boy.”
Finally, Benjamin Krause, director of Sean Penn’s Haiti relief organization J/P HRO, said that the Haitian people have come tremendously far since the earthquake of 2010, but there’s still a long way to go. “Every day for the last two years we’ve moved 25 dump trucks of rubble from the city,” Krause said. One point of light: Krause cited the new government as the biggest sign of hope, especially since it came in with a peaceful transition.
