Unions and the Occupy movement joined together to call for better jobs and economic equality during Tuesday’s May Day demonstrations. Todd Gitlin, professor of journalism and sociology at Columbia University and author of “Occupy Nation,” tells Jennifer Granholm that this is an important connection because the 99 percent “is more than either party” and they’ll have to work together if they want to move forward.
