Jennifer Granholm talks to Randi Weingarten, president of the American Federation of Teachers, about the fight for collective bargaining, exploding student loan debt, and the need for strong public education in America. The AFT recently endorsed President Obama, and Granholm asks Weingarten what she sees ahead for the 2012 race. “Here you have the choice between … two very different economic philosophies,” Weingarten says. “One that is rooted in rebuilding the middle class … versus one that basically says, ‘pick yourself up by your bootstraps, unless you’re a big corporation.’”
