Representative Steve Israel (D-N.Y.) says Republicans are undermining the middle class. As chair of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, Israel is tasked with unseating the Republican majority in the House of Representatives — and he thinks he can do it. “This Democratic family will stand up for the middle class,” Israel says. “We’re going to get this majority by holding Republicans accountable. … My job is to focus on beating Republicans, and it’s easier to beat Republicans when they consistently have to defend the indefensible.” Israel says Americans will see that the Democrats are the ones who support and build the middle class.
