David Bohrman, president of Current TV, remembers pioneering astronaut Sally Ride, the first American woman in space and an inspiration to many women in science. Bohrman produced the first network interview with Ride before she was selected for the space mission. “I can’t wait to get up,” Ride told her interviewer, in the video courtesy of ABC News. Ride also said that being the first American woman in space wasn’t important to her, but she “wouldn’t mind” making history. Bohrman says, “She convinced me not to be an astronaut because she was far smarter than I was.”
