‘The people have a right to know’: Ted Strickland calls for Romney to release his tax returns

Former Ohio Governor Ted Strickland wants to know what Mitt Romney is hiding from the American people — because his unwillingness to release his tax returns shows he must be hiding something. “We don’t know if he’s a tax cheat. We don’t know if he’s a tax avoider. … This man is being beaten by his own party for not releasing his income tax returns.” Strickland says Romney’s lack of openness is damaging the candidate and making it look like he’s hiding something. “I think there’s something in those tax returns that is so damaging that it may prevent him from being a serious candidate for president,” Strickland says.
