What should the U.S. spend $67B on instead of fighter jets that don’t work?

A new study debunks the longstanding GOP talking point that military spending is a great way to create jobs. In fact, $1 billion spent on clean energy or health care would create 50 percent more jobs than military expenditures — and spending money on education is an even better bang for our budget buck.

One line item that stands out to us is the $67 billion spent on Lockheed Martin’s F-22 Raptors. Not only are they the most expensive fighter jet ever built, the Air Force is now going to spend another $24 million to find out why pilots keep passing out while flying them.
