Ana takes on anti-abortion activist’s flawed Planned Parenthood revenue figures: ‘You’re making that number up’

As the Susan G. Komen Foundation backs away from a decision to cut funding to Planned Parenthood, Cenk and a special panel — Ana Kasparian, USC professor Ange-Marie Hancock, Becky Bond of CREDO Mobile and Eric Scheidler from Pro-Life Action League — continue to debate the details. Cenk tells Scheidler, “You’re being disingenuous. Your problem with Planned Parenthood isn’t that their breast exams went down by 10 percent. Your problem is that they provide abortions.”

Ana debunks a common anti-abortion talking point that Planned Parenthood — or “Abortions Incorporated,” as Scheidler calls the group — gets 40 percent of its revenue from abortions, when in fact only about 15 percent of revenue is from abortions. “You’re making that number up,” Ana says.
