Climate scientist: ‘If Obama approves Keystone XL, his legacy will be shameful’

Cenk Uygur interviews Ken Caldeira, climate scientist in the Carnegie Institution Department of Global Ecology at Stanford University, about whether President Obama will act to stop the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline from being built. Caldeira says, “It’s hard to really identify anything concrete that President Obama has done on the climate issue to really bring down emissions. If he approves Keystone XL, that will be a concrete action to increase emissions, and I think that President Obama’s legacy on the climate issue will be a shameful one.”
