One of the only people who took Rick Santorum this seriously eight years ago, Dan Savage tells Cenk why “Google Santorum” is still a relevant battle cry. In addition to comparing being gay to raping children or having sex with dogs, Santorum is opposed to sodomy, birth control, masturbation and everything else most Americans are doing anyway — especially, Savage points out, in conservative states that lead the country in pornography consumption.
“I think he was running all along for a four-year Fox News contract,” Savage says.
And just in case you think that “santorum” refers only to anal sex between men — as “Politico” recently said — Savage wants you to know that the vast majority of people who have anal sex are actually straight. “There’s nothing gay about ‘santorum,’” Savage says. “I’m glad you clarified who’s having more anal sex in America,” Cenk responds.
