Did ex-CIA officer John Kiriakou get jail time for revealing another agent’s name or for exposing waterboarding?

Cenk Uygur, Michael Shure, Ana Kasparian and producer Hermela Aregawi debate whether former CIA agent John Kiriakou was unfairly prosecuted for revealing the name of another undercover agent.

Aregawi says, “I’m a little conflicted on this story, because the fact of the matter is, he did commit a crime, and he must have known he was committing a crime.”

Cenk isn’t buying it.

“It’s selective prosecution. You can go after anybody for anything,” Cenk says. “Bob Woodward has top secret information put in his books — everybody acknowledges [it] … more classified than anything Kiriakou revealed, anything Bradley Manning revealed. Bob Woodward’s not in jail, none of his sources are in jail, none of the prosecutors are going after Bob Woodward because the government wants to brag about that stuff.”
