DEA and IRS agents raided Oaksterdam University and affiliated cannabis clubs this week — despite campaign promises from President Obama and pledges from U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder that they would not prioritize enforcing federal law in states that had legalized medical marijuana.
“This is a perversion of what we’re supposed to be doing,” Cenk says, but it makes sense given Obama kept DEA head (and President George W. Bush appointee) Michele Leonhart. “You’re wasting our time. You’re wasting our money. Let people smoke pot. We’re not going to win that war on drugs.”
