Cenk talks to former Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman, a Democrat who was convicted on bribery charges that he says were motivated by GOP politics, not corruption.
“Karl Rove used the Department of Justice [under George W. Bush] as a political weapon,” Siegelman says. Siegelman has lost all of his appeals, including at the Supreme Court, despite support from more than 100 former state attorneys general and leading conservatives.
“I’m the first person in the United States to ever be sent to prison under these circumstances,” Siegelman says.
