Michael Shure, Tricia Rose and Rolling Stone contributor Michael Hastings take a hard look at a New York Times piece about retired Gen. Stanley McChrystal, who is now teaching an “off-the-record” class at Yale.
“This has been part and parcel of this larger rehabilitation campaign…to whitewash his image,” says Hastings, whose reporting about McChrystal’s loose talk on President Obama played a major role in getting McChrystal fired.
“This is a cleaning-up campaign that benefits the government as well as his own pockets,” Rose adds.
