In S.C., Romney’s 15% tax rate is small peanuts compared to possible impact of Mormon tithing

Mitt Romney won’t release his tax returns, but Michael “Epic Politics Man” Shure argues that Romney’s low (if legal) tax rate might not be as damaging as his off-shore investments and — especially in heavily evangelical South Carolina — just how much money he’s tithed to the Mormon church.

“If that comes out in a general election, it’s not nearly as bad,” Cenk argues. Shure says, “This is about deception. He’s not telling us who he is — that’s going to be very hard to get by in the general as well.”
