“The Young Turks” producer Noreen Moustafa reports live from Egypt, where both the results of elections and the fate of former president Hosni Mubarak hang in the balance. “We feel like we’re sitting on a ticking time bomb. The [Muslim] Brotherhood is going to continue to fill [Tahrir] Square, and if word comes down that [Ahmed] Shafik is the winner on Thursday, they’re going to go nuts. Nobody really knows what to expect.”
Although many of the original revolutionaries who helped overthrow Mubarak boycotted the vote, “some of them actually did vote for the Muslim Brotherhood candidate simply because they didn’t want Shafik.”
