In contrast, the Girl Scouts of America has been an inclusive organization since its founding and welcomes both lesbian and transgender girls. “They are light-years ahead of the Boy Scouts,” journalist Michelangelo Signorile tells Cenk. “The Boy Scouts is going backwards. … Here you have this organization stuck in something like 20 years ago.” Without support from the Mormon and Catholic churches and other religious groups that sponsor almost two-thirds of troops, Signorile says, the BSA would be in even bigger trouble.
Cenk and panelists discuss TWA Flight 800, drones in the U.S., and the latest on Edward Snowden. Plus, Sister Helen Prejean on her advocacy to abolish the death penalty and a tribute to Michael Hastings.
