Michael Hastings: White House released many details about bin Laden killing immediately, so why GOP furor over ‘Zero Dark Thirty’ access?

Cenk Uygur talks to BuzzFeed correspondent and Rolling Stone contributor Michael Hastings about the upcoming film “Zero Dark Thirty,” which re-creates the search for and killing of Osama bin Laden.

“The night when the president announced the bin Laden raid, the White House declassified a bunch of stuff, in a way that they don’t normally do,” Hastings says. “They will only leak things or declassify things when it makes them look good, and then use classification as a weapon to attack critics or to try to keep things that might be embarrassing.” But the information declassification this time may ultimately protect the filmmakers against criticism that they received classified information from the White House.
