Obama campaign still grappling with how to ‘evolve’ on gay marriage while Democrats have moved forward

Michelangelo Signorile, Sirius OutQ radio host and Huffington Post Gay Voices editor-at-large, joins Cenk to talk sexual politics — from a lawsuit from Ugandan activists against an American evangelical leader to President Obama’s slow work to “evolve” on gay marriage.

“Why can’t he simply be with the rest of the country with this?” Signorile asks. “I think there’s an irrational fear in the campaign and the White House. I think he got himself in a box here with this evolution thing, and he’s really grappling with how to get out of it. The rest of the political world and the Democratic party has moved on, and it is going to be really tough for them to clamp down on this movement to put it on the platform. The base of the party is really completely behind the issue of full civil rights for gay people.”
