Obama’s executive order improving background check database ‘definitely would have prevented Virginia Tech,’ says victim’s brother

Cenk Uygur talks to Omar Samaha, whose sister was killed in the shooting at Virginia Tech University, about the 23 executive orders immediately signed by President Obama as part of his proposed changes to gun control laws. Samaha says, “The gunman that killed my sister and the 31 other victims at Virginia Tech actually fell through the cracks [for background checks] — his name was not in the national database.” Cenk asks, “Are you saying there’s actually some chance [this new measure] would have prevented Virginia Tech?” Samaha says, “It definitely would have prevented Virginia Tech.”
