Reddit’s Erik Martin on going dark to protest SOPA and PIPA — and how the fight is far from over

Erik Martin, GM at Reddit.com, tells Cenk why his company will go dark on Wednesday to continue the protest against anti-piracy legislation that could severely curtail Internet freedom.

“That’s not criminal — that’s the way the Internet works,” Martin says of provisions that could allow for take-down of sites that link to piracy sites. While SOPA has been at least temporarily beaten back — thanks to pressure from tech companies and constituents — some sponsors have vowed to push its Senate equivalent (PIPA) and also revisit SOPA in February.

“They’re looking for bribes,” Cenk says.
