Congressman Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.) weighs in on concerns that there’s anti-Semitism among the GOP House representatives. Cohen, who is Jewish, defended Rep. Don Manzullo (R-Ill.) who reportedly told House Majority leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) that due his Jewish faith he “would not be saved.”
Cohen says, “I don’t think that’s anti-Semitic. I think that’s just his thoughts and what he believes about the afterlife and eternity and religion.” But he also adds, “But if Eric Cantor says there’s anti-Semitism in the Republican caucus, then there probably is.”
