Sean Lennon on NY fracking battle: If it’s too dangerous in Manhattan, it’s too dangerous everywhere

Cenk Uygur talks to Sean Lennon about his work with his mother, Yoko Ono, and the coalition Artists Against Fracking to lobby New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo to ban hydraulic fracturing because of environmental concerns. Of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s comments that it’s possible to frack sensibly — especially in more rural areas of the state — Lennon says, “You can see the flaw in his argument. It’s ultimately saying, ‘It is too dangerous for the population of Manhattan.’ Therefore it should be too dangerous for all populations. Just because there are only a thousand people in a town doesn’t mean those people are expendable.’
