Sugar daddy Adelson could save $500 million in taxes if his boy Gingrich wins

Newt Gingrich’s sugar daddy Sheldon Adelson agrees with the candidates on many fronts — but no one else has done the math on how much money Adelson would make (or save) if Gingrich were actually elected. Even Romney looks poor compared to Adelson, who is 84 times richer.

If Adelson “earned” the same percentage of income as Romney in relationship to net worth, he’d be making $1.76 billion. At 15 percent, he pays $265 million. Under the “Buffett Rule” that President Obama proposed, Adelson would pay twice as much. And if Gingrich put in place his zero percent capital-gains tax, he’d save at least $529 million a year.

“Gee, I wonder why he’s giving him $10 million dollars!” Cenk says. “If Gingrich wins, it would be the greatest investment of Adelson’s life.” Cenk challenges Adelson to release his returns so the true potential impact of a Gingrich win can be fairly assessed.
