Professor Rashawn Ray talks to Cenk about the shooting of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, who was killed in his father’s gated community while walking home from a local convenience store.
“I keep thinking about my own son,” Cenk says, “and then you can’t even get any justice!”
Ray says, “People think that we live in a colorblind century. In the 21st century, my sons are going to have to deal with racism and discrimination in this way… [Trayvon] was a good kid, and it was just extremely, extremely unfortunate. It just hurts my heart.”
