One popular hot dog stand in Chicago, Illinois caters to its crowd in a unique way -- by trading insults. The customer may always be right, but people filing into The Wieners Circle after last call come for the greasy food and mutual verbal harassment, bantering with their servers. Owners Barry Nemerow and Larry Gold didn't anticipate that they'd become local stars for running a place known for rowdy employees, but they're proud of the tradition started in the early 90s.
Inspired by the award-winning Chicago Public Radio show of the same name,
"This American Life" travels the country in search of compelling stories
told by everyday people in their own words - with a little help from host
and series creator Ira Glass. Each episode features a quirky cast of
characters, from a cloned Brahman bull to a Chicago hot dog vendor, brought
together by the unique theme that connects their unforgettable tales.

Bring BACK TAL. It was a fantastic addition to current and Ira Glass is fantastic. Vanguard is my idol but it was nice to see a doc on current that isnt depressing just a fun interesting story. If no more new episodes, you might as well play more reruns...

Tiger60, I agree completely, radio for me. Glass' narration and story-telling shapes a story well in my mind, seeing almost diminishes the experience.

What a lark. Reminds me of Dick's here in Seattle in every way but the colorful lingo, which we're too nice to have! What a relief, the lack of P-C manners. Great!
