Danny "Lambo" Karne takes us on a tour of London's premier "Fashion, Glam, and Rock 'n' Roll" hotel, the Pavilion. It's where celebrities and supermodels like Pete Doherty, Kate Moss, and Naomi Campbell have visited and stayed.

    • wow, different tastes, i guess, we didn't love our stay at all. lots of better, cooler, cleaner places in Town. lots.
      we stayed in the 'highland fling' room last year...a nightmare of red tartan, musty old overstuffed furniture and dusty, dead animals hung everywhere there was an empty bit of wall space. we could barely breathe thru the leftover smoke from previous guests plus the live ones coming in from the 2 guys working on the scaffolding right outside our window, a floor up. our cabby told us to be careful in the neighborhood and get back home by dark. 2 nights in a row we awoke to people outside yelling, swearing and singing at 1, 2, 3 AM, people getting sick next door, clumping up and down the stairs all night...yuck.
      could not get out of our 2-night res. without paying full! poor desk clerk, 2nd day on the job, had no clue how to make a phone call, buy a stamp, get a cleaner room, but he did give us a big bottle of febreeze and an apology.
      free tang the next AM was a treat conmpared to the rest of the joint. if you want some germs thrown in with your funk, this place is for you.

    • Hilarious! Danny notes that the Insane Clown Posse (famous for trashing hotel rooms) checked in. When he came back the next morning, all the beds were made up and the room was immaculate. Danny implies that they played an ironic joke on him by cleaning the room before they left. Is it possible that they took one look at the room and checked into another hotel?

      My team of crack travel professionals decided to test this hypothesis.

      We discovered: a used sex toy in one of the drawers, one foot of clearence on all sides of the bed, a picture of a topless nude on the wall, and no security. The hotel management would not allow us to leave the premises without dropping the key off at the front desk, and they also did not allow us to make outgoing calls from our room. We could not help but wonder: is this really a hotel?

      Looks like the Insane Clown Posse made the right decision. What a hole!

    • I went to a party here once. Good times. Celebs, beautiful people and cocktails. It's nice to pretend some times.
