The Sims 3 Leaked?

There are some unconfirmed reports floating about this morning claiming that The Sims 3 has been leaked. The long-awaited PC game's official launch date is June 2nd.

Romanian site SoftSailor is among those reporting the supposed leak:

For the moment we can’t tell for sure if the game is real as the packed/unpacked leaks are sized somewhere near 5GB. The small size of the game makes us think that this is not the actual game, but maybe it’s an unfinished version of The Sims 3 life simulation game...

[updated] P.S. From what I’ve read, the game is real and many are playing it right now.

Well-known torrent site The Pirate Bay, whose operators are appealing their recent conviction by a Swedish court on piracy charges, currently has a 4.94GB file named The.Sims.3-Reloaded posted.

    • Its ligit! Im currently downloading it, But there is a virus in the leaked .exe! So if you get it make sure you get the patched .exe!

    • Yeah its legit, i just installed and played it, the .iso should be 5.59 gigs. Thanks for the heads up Nettle! Kinda lame you can't go online though, kinda makes ya wanna buy the full version when it does get released.

    • I wonder if they are going to fix the eating and toilet issues that take up far too much time and are not really fun to do. Total realism isn't fun

      They are. The Sims in 3 are more autonomous, and not in a brain dead way (seriously, even with the sims 2 I turned the AI meter or whatever they called it down to zero). There's a whole Youtube channel called "TheSims" with intro videos and sneak peeks.

    • Just talking about the upcoming Sims 3 release makes me start drooling.

      I think 5GB is no where near large enough for something anywhere near the finished product.

      The Sims 2 had an install size of closer to 10GB, and you would naturally expect the next iteration to be larger
