Twitter clients to explode in a #Twitpocalypse on June 12th?!

Remember the Millenium Bug? Remember how nothing ever happened? Well it looks like Twitter is facing a similar melodramatic THREAT TO ITS VERY EXISTENCE.

Apparently on June 12th, the total number of tweets will reach a magic number - 2,147,483,647 - which due to the way some computers are programmed, is the highest number some computers can count to.

Twitter will probably have thought about this in advance, but the worry is the twitter clients: the tweetdecks, the twhirls, the tweeties and the twitterfoxes of this world: have they prepared? Can they count to 2,147,483,648? If not, things could get messy.

Nuclear bombs will go off around the world (assuming they're triggered by Twitter), hurricanes will destroy cities (assuming they're triggered by Twitter) and the anti-christ will emerge from the depths of hell to enslave humanity (assuming it is triggered by Twitter).

Best get in your bunker now.
