“The Hurt Locker” is a really important film that is one of the few successful attempts in cinema today that portrays the Iraq war powerfully with an emotional twist.

This blog is about patriotism and what it means to be remember our troops---is it cool or uncool to be a patriot? Can you support your troops without being for the war? Do you believe in this war? If so, why? If not, why?

The film brings to question the fact that we all want to forget this hideous war that all of us have argued against for almost a decade but we still have to remember that there are men and women fighting and dying for our freedom everyday. Like it or not, they are what’s allowing us to have our rights. We don’t want another Vietnam---how do we prevent that?

A really interesting piece about the film and about patriotism and why it is okay to love your country, hate your country---but regardless, it is okay to love your country, hate your country---but regardless, love the people who keep you free.

This blogger is always unique, eclectic and a really great writer. A+ Really powerful and important piece.

    • It IS really is good. The screenwriter was at the screening and it was a labor of love. Totally not a money thing. He was a journalist who worked with the bomb squad evidently and he really told the story accurately and truthfully. Really gripping and very well acted. Really gives you an idea of what these guys are doing for us out there. Excellent film.

    • I am certainly intrigued. I hope the movie is an accurate representation of the truth and isn't just looking to make money. Can't wait to see it!
