The recession is upon us. In these troubled times we need to be making our monies go as far as they possibly will. So, next time when you save up and decide to spend around £50 on a brand new game, think again and I invite you to take the challenge to buy some of these games I suggest.
I assume since you are reading this you own a 'computer'. This is the piece of equipment you will need to play these games. Most of the titles you will see released for the consoles are about showing off the graphics, making the games long and usually over complicate things making people new to gaming feel intimidated. I offer you people an alternative to this boring way of thinking.
Since the release of the Playstation Store, Steam and the Xbox Live Store, game developers that you would usually never have heard of are getting their games published. These stores encourage people to come up with new simple and fun gaming ideas for all of us good old customers to play. These games are very simple compared to your modern FPS or MMORPG which is why you should have a go at some of these games.
The first game I suggest is a Game called Plants vs Zombies. This simple game has a great cartoon style and addictive gameplay. It takes the tower defence genre to a new level. The basic concept is you make plants to shoot the zombies to stop them coming into your house. I know it may sound odd and stupid but seriously this game is really fun. As well as the main adventure mode it has mini games and other extras with it you can play about on after you complete the game. The Link is below, Check it out.

Most ball games require you to leave your house. Not any more, World of Goo has been out for a while now and won an award for being so revoulutionary. In this game you control a load of Goo Balls which you make things out of such as bridges and towers to get to an end tube point. There are lots of different types of Goo Balls making the combinations limitless and super fun. This game is very fun, not too easy but not too frustrating at the same time. I recommend this to all people who enjoy a good strategy game as well as goo and balls.

Also the first version of this game was an experiment to make games in a week with a small team to see if they could make anything worthwhile on a low budget. Luckily they did and the first version of this game, which is very small compared to the one you play, is here.

Finally if you love making cakes and you love playing games the Cake Mania Collection may be for you. This game puts you in the shoes of a cake shop owner. As your shop grows you make more cakes and get more equipment. This addictive game is great for wasting away the day when you are hungover or simply have nothing better to do. I personally love these types of games. You start off small and the more customers you keep happy the more they pay you. Then you go on to buy more equipment until you own the best Cake Shop ever!!

I hope some people do take the time and money to buy these games and take a look. They are something different to what you are used to in a big title game and some are even more fun. I personally have bought all these games recently in an attempt to play some different games and they are just as good as any $100 000 000 game that Microtendo will bring out.
