Remember when we told you that Microsoft was going to split up the Xbox Live Updates and start by releasing them to the press and some other special Xbox Live members today? Well, we just got details on how to be “special”, and get part of the update preview program before anyone even sees them on their consoles. It’s pretty easy too, and Microsoft is only granting a few thousand access.

    • Not just that JClem, but they are shooting themselves in the foot by making full 4.5GB Xbox 360 game downloads a possibility, but not releasing any bigger, affordable hard disks to the market.

      You're making an assumption that bigger hard drives are not coming. Microsoft's xbox team has done a great job capitalizing on the market so far. I wouldn't expect that to end any time soon. I'd expect we see a new hard drive added to the roster this year.

    • Interesting but really its just another excuse for Microsoft to use the general public as cheap beta testers. They've been doing it for years with PC products, it gets a bit boring after a while. They should just test it properly before release
