Pirates of the Caribbean 4, has been in dark water since director Gore Verbinski bowed out in April in favour of Bioshock. However the film may be back on track again, with reports that Rob Marshall is close to signing on to direct the film.
Marshall finishing work on his mega-musical Nine. This could be next project for him, because Disney is anxious to get things underway before Johnny Depp starts film The Lone Ranger, with producer Jerry Bruckheimer.
Casting has started for new characters for the series.

Disney executives are probably too busy cracking open their massed arrays of treasure chests from the last few instalments to care what a few measly writers think about the next film. Rob Marshall has directed theatre and it would be nice to see him go easy on the CGI and get a full roar out of his pirates. Looking forward to it.
