Is The Xbox 360 Pro Version Leaving Us?

Image

This is an image of the new Xbox 360 Arcade (on the right) and the older and original Xbox 360 Arcade box (on the left, duh). As you can see by the new box it appears to not list the Xbox 360 Pro Version. Blasphemy!

Does this mean that Pro is not going to produced anymore? Is Microsoft slowly trying to phase out the Pro version and force the larger Elite brother onto gamers? This begs the question, will the Xbox Elite become the standard Xbox 360 console and drop in price? This would be a good move on Microsoft’s part, especially with the impending launch of the Ps3 Slim.

    • Who gives a shit, it was worthless. When I get a 360 to go along with my PS3 and Wii, I'm getting a pro. Elite is bullshit, and meets no needs of mine, and I hate black colored consoles. I like color variety.

    • I'm sorry but the arcade is not sub par by any standards. It uses exactly the same hardware as the Elite, you only miss the hard drive. I've done fine without one for nearly 2 years

I would have thought that 2 versions would be the way to go, cheaper to market and manufacture and would fit in nicely with a price drop

    • Here's what Microsoft may be thinking if this is infact the case; If they end the pro version of the console, sales of the elite will go up as gamers would rather have the full package vs the basic sub par version.

However, here's a flaw in that logic; most gamers whom are willing to spend the amount of money to purchase an elite, probably already own a 360 and thus, the sales of the elite will probably stay about the same where as the sale of the 360 arcade version will have a slight increase as the lesser gamers won't really care about the bells and whistles.
