The advert will be screened tonight after government researchers found one in 10 youngsters admits driving while under the influence of drugs.
It coincides with a nationwide police clampdown on drug-driving, including an increase in random roadside checks during August's music festival and holiday party season.
Transport ministers fear many 18-25 year-olds who would not drink and drive because of the risk of getting caught are happy to take drugs and get behind the wheel because they think they can get away with it.

I saw this last night, while watching "Chuck" and "You Have Been Watching", and it is strange but informative... glad I don't take drugs.

Need to watch this, so many drivers will be defo caught out....if it keeps our roads/kids safe then all for it but the law must be fair with it and not just assume

I think its really good especially the effects on the eyes from post production, although I think they may need to use more shock tactics eg the consequences of driving while under the influence of drugs.

So true. I saw the ad on Tv last night and after a careless glance I did a double take - "what the hell is with that guys eyes?!" kinda scenario.
It got me to pay attention 'till the end of the ad 'cause I had to see what it was about.

I doubt these will have any effect. IF someone happens to be pulled over, and IF the officer spots they're as high as balls (to quote VVFS's Brett Erlich) then, and only then will they get punished to the full extent of the law.
And what's the full extent of the law? Just the same as drunk driving. So, in theory, someone that's taken a shedload of acid and thinks the steering wheel is made of marshmallows and the officer is Liquorice Allsorts' Bertie, will get treated the same as someone that's had three pints.

Eschewing the shock techniques more commonly seen in drink-drive commercials, this one ends simply. This subtle approach is refreshing compared to all other ear bleeding Think! PSA's.
Will it do enough to deter?

Great visual effects there, the creative agencies behind these campaigns always nail it. But involuntary eye-movement alone? Some kids start acting more like this dude here.
