This was a pretty interesting movie. Especially the way the way the director filmed Tyson, the way the movie shows him talking is very unique. You feel as if the film was not only about Tyson's rise and fall but also about how he fought to continue being a figure in boxing. You should definitely buy the movie.

Mike Tyson has teamed up with his director buddy James Toback to make (probably) one of the most insightful and honest depictions of a tragic rise and fall I've ever seen. The simplicity in which Toback tells this sorry tale is key here - the sole narration is by Tyson and could easily turn into a couch confession that turns tired after half and hour but the deft editing and touching imagery make the story Tyson tells one worth hearing.
No matter what you think of Tyson, this film goes a long way by sifting through the bizarre public persona to give us an insight into a damaged mind that hit the spotlight too soon and fell to the ground harder.

Now I never liked Tyson. He is an unadulterated asshole. In this doc you get to know why and its a testement to how its put together that by the end I felt sorry for the guy.
I'll do a webcam for this.

In my opinion this was an effectively tough, unsentimental look at boxing. He had a power-house PR machine behind him throughout the top of his career. I remember staying up for the Tyson Vs Lewis fight circa 10 years ago and thinking the hype was better that the fight itself. If you have seen Mike Tyson's hilarious extended cameo in this summer's hit comedy The Hangover I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. As we all know, much of the tragic figure he has become has been of his own doing, but the rest is all media spin. Whist the details can be very cringe worthy (Tyson recites Oscar Wilde while looking at a sunset, no I'm not joking), the film documents ‘the rise an fall’ really well. They also do little to detract from what ends up being a riveting look inside one of the sporting world's most intriguing, and pitiful, figures.
