Is 'Super Super' A P**take? Yes or No?

guy_gunaratne
This thing has been running all week this week in the 3 minute wonder slot on Channel 4. It features a whole host of 'urban style' douchebags promoting their magazine 'Super Super' and has them waxing pretentiously about being the trendsetters of a cultural revolution.

As in the kind of revolution that revolutionizes like, fashion.....or hair.

They swear blind that this is an established bi-monthly magazine has been going for years and has only just surfaced.

BUT I SMELL A RAT!

Now, I'm aware that urban style douchebags actually do exist here in London but I refuse to believe its come to this....

What do you guys think?

IRONIC SPOOF or MORONIC DOUCHE?

    • We stock this at work and when I first saw it, I couldn't believe it was real. I read it from cover to cover in horrified fascination and (apart from one brilliant article about racism in modern society) by the end couldn't understand what the hell had just happened to my brain. As I was putting it on the table, a (much younger) colleague came over and said; "Oh, do you read Super Super? It's brilliant isn't it?!"
I couldn't help mumbling to myself 'The idiots are winning.'

    • Super Super has been around for some time now and I can verify its definately real. Ive seen it in try-hard Shoreditch shops. You know the ones that sell luminous pink T-shirts and other ironic fashion items.

It is all very Nathan Barley. The reason that program was so funny was because it was so very close to reality. I think that why it was never that successful ... The only people that actually 'got it' were the people it was ripping the piss out of.

I think the editor of this piece was slyly taking the piss when he cut it. But these people exist, they do think they are this important and they are, unintentionally, hilarious.

    • Unless, Unless Nathan Barley has unintentionally spawned a reactionary group deciding to defend Shoreditch or they all saw it but didn't get the irony and thought it was cool for all the wrong reasons.

    • You're not the first to mention Nathan Barley. It's driving me insane! It's AWFUL if it is true but somehow I just don't quite buy it.

      Here's a mindf**k for you though:

      That awful kid rapper?

      ....Yeah, he's real.....

    • Very tricky & good question. It looks soooo Nathan Barley. Love the awful rapping clip. Their Twitter account looks a bit too new for a site that's sposed to be so happening they're tomorrow.

Yet according to a media directory they've been around since 2006
