Just how will we reduce the costs of health care? Some recent trends point towards a future of outsourced medical care –and it may be here sooner than you think.

    • In some ways I do agree with you, but the fact remains that medical outsourcing seems to be on the verge of happening whether we like it or not. With insurers desperate to cut costs in light of whatever reform that happens, I think health care providers are going to give this a try.

Well if it does happen, expect prices to go UP, not down, expect quality of service to decline, and expect incompetency to increase as there is less and less communication between contingent groups.

Outsourcing has proven over and over, to be the death of large businesses, to wreak havoc on communities, to destroy neighborhoods, and to eat away at the foundations of the economy, ultimately causing system-wide collapse.

Expect those firms that outsource to go the way of the dodo when the next economic crisis hits.

      Two books you should read:
"Life, Inc" by economist Douglas Rushkoff, and "The Shock Doctrine" by Naomi Klein.

    • outsourcing has proven to be an organizational failure at every level, and many such "empty" corporations have collapsed.

Localizing is a better organizational strategy for stability, efficiency, quality, and cost reduction.
