The stunning gamma-ray burst (GRB) was observed by two teams of researchers in April, and opens a window onto a poorly known period when the Universe was in its infancy.
GRBs are the most violent explosions known to exist, and can be 10 million times more luminous than the brightest of galaxies.

"...can be 10 million times more luminous than the brightest of galaxies."
Damn, that just blows my mind that 1 star can be that much more brighter than A FRIGGIN' GALAXY!

CalPal:
When a star dies it's energy is relised thru the points of least resistance the magnetic poles and it takes a short time a "burst" we only se the bursts that are pointed at our neck of the universe think of a camera flash say six feet from you then out that flash against your eye open it will blind you
