Glenn Beck yesterday was forced off the air by an attack of appendicitis.

The attack came on mid-afternoon during his radio show. The controversial commentator began complaining on the air that he wasn't feeling well and shortly after left his co-host, Pat Grey, to finish the program. Beck was taken by car to an unnamed Manhattan hospital where he underwent an appendectomy.

Christopher Balfe, the president of Mercury Radio where Beck's program airs, joked that "before going under, Glenn asked the doctor to draw out the surgery procedure on a blackboard."

A source said that he was expected to be off the air for the rest of the week.

    • He actually works for a company that provides, I'm certain, excellent health care.
      So if we change to socialized medicine he'll eventually end up with sh*tty below par , 'wait in line 'til it's your turn' government controlled health care.
      Why? Because companies will quit providing health care if you are mandated to provide your own or be fined.

      Being able to see clearly enough to understand an entire group of people will bash him because he works for FOX, is not mentally handicapped.

      Talking about reconstructing body parts is not necessary....it only shows what some will do to spew BS when they really don't know why they feel the way they do! Like being led around by the biased left, without any intelligent reasons to follow them.
      Oh, that's right they have their finger up your nose. So they spew their misdirected anger at those the left fear.

      Some one had questioned his having really great health care as though he wasn't worthy of it and because he did have it he could knock Nancy's socialized health care.
      The current administration DOES NOT care about your health care they just want the CONTROL of the money involved in private health care. They already have control over the VA, Medicare and Medicaid money.

    • Like him or ?... Beck believes what he says and he is very entertaining and recently has scored major street cred... by focusing on the so called czars in the Obama administration. The fact that Fox is on the Obama enemy list will only make people watch more.... Obama and team are not running the country, they are still campaigning... attacking talk shows and news .... is not leading..

      well fox news is incredibly biased and is a shame to journalism, constantly going for scare tactics and shock value to improve ratings while doing little genuine relevant investigative pieces, while at the same time being one of the most popular news networks. I'd say it's very important to inform the public about the shit their being fed by this "news" network. I guess potshots at the president is one of our new national past times.

      Fox News does not provide him with insurance. He owns his own radio program and provides himself and all of his employees with the best insurance. FREE OF CHARGE. So he's good to go.
      I wish him well, but i hope he actually stays in the hospital as ordered and does not go home and start complaining about pain like last summer. Big puss.

      I didn't know he provided his employees with free insurance. I guess there might be a decent human being behind all that right wing rhetoric somewhere. However, someone is footing the bill, so it isn't completely free.
