I’m fed up to here!
The logic of the drug war has been proven to be lacking in countless ways, yet it continues. More than 22,000 are now dead in Mexico’s barbarous and bloody war. More than 39,000,000 non-violent users have been arrested in the US. Prisons and jails remain at or near unconstitutionally over crowded levels. We’ve squandered more than a Trillion dollars trying to stop the flow of drugs and we’ve wasted more than 10 Trillion dollars in continuing the flow. Teens still have the easiest access of all to contaminated drugs, sold by armed gangsters in back rooms and alleyways.

Peace through war.

A hundred years of prohibition,

Needs a hundred years more.

We gotta’ fund
*
The terrorists and gangs.
*
To save the kids,
*
We gotta’ do the same damned thing.
Where is the logic, the common sense, the embrace of reality itself?
That will be the topic of discussion this Sunday evening, May 2nd. The Drug Truth Network will broadcast a live discussion with El Paso city councilman Beto O’Rourke who is a daily witness to the horrors inflicted on his sister city of Ciudad Juarez and Houston city councilman and former police chief Clarence Bradford.
The winds of prohibition howl as the irrational maelstrom blows. Pipe dreaming warriors raise their eternal chant, dancing for rain in the eye of a drug war hurricane.

I keep on hearing people say that drugs and substance abuse does not cause the general population to suffer. According to the AMA 900,000 die each year from substance abuse. About 2% die on our roads. Many of these are inocent of substance abuse. Legalizing anouther substance to put on our roads is not nessesary. If you need it for a medical reason, get a perscription. Using mind altering drugs is not a requirment for fun or sanity.
