Tea Party Heckler Calls Elizabeth Warren "Socialist Whore"
by David Badash on November 3, 2011
.
A Tea Party supporter showed up at an Elizabeth Warren speech and called Elizabeth Warren a “socialist whore,” and Barack Obama, “foreign-born,” after speaking his mind about his own unemployment, Warren’s support of the Occupy Wall Street Movement.
The man, who said he’d been unemployed since February 2010, objected to Warren’s expressed affiliation with the frustrations of Occupy Wall Street, and argued that the Tea Party has been protesting Wall Street excess for longer than the nascent global movement.
The crowd tried to shout the man down, but Warren told her supporters to let him speak. “No, no, it’s alright. Let me say two things,” she said. “I’m very sorry that you’ve been out of work. I’m also very sorry that the recent jobs bill that would’ve brought 22,000 jobs to Massachusetts did not pass in the Senate.”
Speaking in a packed VFW hall, Warren went on to address his question about her association with Occupy Wall Street. “I’ve been protesting what’s been going on on Wall Street for a very long time,” she said, but added that the movement has its own independent agenda and will proceed along its own course.
“Yeah, so has the Tea Party,” the man said, before losing his cool.
“Well, if you’re the intellectual creator of that so-called party,” he said, “you’re a socialist whore. I don’t want anything to do with you.” The crowd shouted him down as he added that Warren’s “boss,” presumably referring to the president, was “foreign-born.” He then attempted to storm out through a side door. Finding it locked, he retreated out the back of the VFW hall instead.

What a coward. Scream out your insult like a petulant crybaby and run away like a wuss. Had to laugh when he tried the wrong door and had to find another way to slink off. He really embarrassed himself.
As usual Elizbeth Warren comported herself with grace and aplomb, using the opportunity to educate rather than fire back in kind. I have much admiration for this lady.

Some of them know no shame. What kind of party, goes to their so-called opposition and calls them names like 'socialist whore'? The just 'say it' and move along party? What did the man want? No taxes on millionaires? Wants cuts to Social Security and Medicare? Doesn't want people to exercise their right to protest? Last but not lease, doesn't want accountability and responsibility?
Shame on him! If he is an example of the Tea Party, they are not the party American's should follow. One leads by example. Bad examples, are bad examples. The Tea Party should say, shame on him!

The Republicans and the Tea Party have said and done many things I find shameful. The American people have moved along to the wrongs, for too long. No more just saying it and moving along. We need to recognize the actions, which deserve shame. Stop acting as though it doesn't matter. Crude, rude and offensive aren't virtues we should accept.

I'm not being disingenuous, I think people should be held accountable for their words and actions, regardless of party. Just accepting it because the other party does it, is wrong too.
Our leaders, lead by example and the guy who stood up and interrupted President Obama's State of the Union, calling out 'you lie', should have had consequences. Instead we just 'moved along', making people think that is acceptable. When their leaders do it with no consequences, what more can we expect?

Nah, just like George W., we can't look at the past. I guess if we are going to hold people accountable for lying, we must look back at the most damaging lies of the Century. I know that, I have read it in the past. No one should be afforded the luxury of a lie. Honesty should be more than an option. It's should be a requirement of all those who are elected to serve. They should all be held accountable.
My point was the outburst during the State of the Union. There are places to challenge lies. During the State of the Union, was not the place. That was a bad example of disrespect!

I would like to bring up Senator Kyle to make a point. Senator Kyle stated 'out loud' on record, a blatant lie about Planned Parenthood. Later when challenged with facts, his answer was 'It wasn't meant to be factual'. Why wasn't he held accountable? Isn't there anything in their 'Oath of Office' requiring honesty? If not, that's a change which should happen immediately! It should be against the Oath of Office to knowingly lie. We should be able to 'trust' what they say out loud. They should know there are consequences if they lie. Not meant to be factual, means he knew he was lying. He was lying with purpose.

Thankfully we have the freedom to foolishly call someone a fool, but quite often wind up exposing ourselves to be just that.
Are you at all cognizant of the pending collapse of Greece, Italy, Spain et al?
. . . in essence the whole of western Europe is caving under the collective debt of 'entitlements' that there is no way in hell is it any longer to possibly fund.
. . . yet you and undoubtedly the ideology you enshrine are hell bent on emulating what is quite inevitably failing. . . all built on the premise and promises of altruism. . . but in the end, what you'll eventually have is forced austerity. The consequences of bad decisions will aways end in bad results.

I watched the Presidents speech and Q&A from Cannes this morning. Can anybody imagine anyone from the GOP lineup that could even hold a candle to him on any level? His erudition, intellect, command of the facts are lightyears superior to not only those running for the Republican nomination, but anyone in their entire pathetic party.
I don't agree with him on all issues and those who blindly follow anyone 100% expecting total satisfaction are only setting themselves up for lives filled with regret. That said, the right wing can posture all they want but they, as well as the children on these comment boards who use the same tired 'teleprompter' lines and silly attempts at diversion, are scared beyond description. If fact, it is palpable.
They know in their heart of hearts that Barack Obama will serve a second term in the Oval Office and that Nancy Pelosi will once more be Speaker of the House. Nothing will stop that.

There are certain things that I find myself agreeing with him on but most of his political philosophy seems to be a bit too rigid and lacks any real humanity. He also seems aloof to the realities of self-governance and unable (or unwilling) to accede to any demonstrable proposition that a viable structure is essential to the common good. Those who created our 'living constitution' took a quantum leap in that their prescience recognized that both individual human rights and civil liberties also needed to be tempered by the recognition that the populace in any true civilized society must be responsible for each others welfare as well. I don't feel that Dr. Paul truly understands that.

Now, with a divide like this, how the hell are we ever going to get our nation back together? The majority does not want a failed Marxist state with misery for all, so, somethings gotta be done. You won't get those who are paying all the bills agree to pay more, anymore than those on the dole would agree to give up a little, so I would think that compromise is in order, or we can just flush the whole nation down the toilet and to hell with our kids' and grandkids' futures. Hey Kenny! I know there's a lot of passion out there about the financial problems, if one is not pissed off, there is something wrong with them for sure! So, I've been doing some objective research to find out all the reasons for the melt down. Below is a clip from an article written by James F. Davis, published on 10/14/08, on AIM. Shoot the messenger if that's the reaction, but there's plenty of facts to back this up.
**********
"A huge portion of the increased mortgage loan defaults are what are referred to as ‘sub-prime’ loans. Most of the sub-prime loans have been made to borrowers with poor credit ratings, no down payment on the home financed, and/or no verification of income or assets (Alt-A’s). Close to 25% of sub-prime and Alt-A’s loans are in default.
These loans increased dramatically as a 9/30/99 New York Times article explained, “In a move that could help increase homeownership rates among minorities and low income consumers, the Fannie Mae Corp. is easing the credit requirements on loans that it will purchase from banks and other lenders.”
Why would banks make such risky loans? The answer is that the Clinton administration pressured the banks to help poor people become homeowners, a noble liberal idea. Also the Clinton Justice Department threatened banks with lawsuits and fines ($10,000 per application) for redlining (discrimination) if they did not make these loans. Also ACORN (Obama’s community service organization) was instrumental in providing borrowers and pressuring the banks to make these loans."

We've been the ones paying for this all along. Yeah, some of the deregulations that baby Bush put in place, given the problem that they all knew about for as long as the CRDA has been around (Carter signed it, Clinton expanded it), were certainly careless and nothing more than payback for donations. There should be at least one very large federal prison filled up with ceos, traders, politicians (ie Barney Frank and Chis Dodd).
There's a lot to the issue.
