I'll be following this best as I can today. I think China already did, and I'm sorry but they should be roundly criticized for doing so as should the US that will now also pull out because this tit for tat is more important than humanity.

With this knowledge regarding droughts, floods and their impact already on agriculture globally, it is immoral to the extreme to read about countries and companies literally landgrabbing in Africa in order to own land to grow biofuel and use it for other means. Food sovereignty must be a resounding chorus at these talks. I know I sound like a broken record, but planting moringa trees in these areas would provide food, water purification and medicine for people. Women in Malawi are already doing this and actually making a living though small from it. Industrial agrculture is killing soil nutrients, toxifying water, exacerbating climate change and taking away the necessary tools farmers need to build sustainable agricultural futures. This is the moral challenge of this century and it is good to see people raising awareness of what poor and indigenous people are already suffering through. And when you look at the MIdwest here and Mexico which is having its worst drought in 70 years, you see it can happen anywhere. We are not immune from this any longer.

It will take Texas going into its third worst year of drought in history before rednecks start to figure out that this IS REAL.
I only hope it's not too late by then (next year). - 6 months ago
