Boehner ‘may’ hold payroll tax cut hostage over Keystone pipeline

JB looks like his undies are in a bit of a bundle during this interview. He has to be the good soldier for the oil industry no matter how much it puts him between the proverbial rock and a hard place with the voters. To serve his masters on this one, he must feel like he's giving head to a live grenade.

Obummer should let this pipeline go through. Funny, when Republicans stand up for something they believe in the wacky left says they are holding us hostage or obstructing. When Democrats do it they are standing up for the little guy. What a snow job. Many of us can see through it.

Pipe line not being built? Don't you know that all that dirty polluting sludge will create a few temporary jobs and that all that sludge will be turned into oil, but not for our consumption, it will be sold on the open oil market at huge profits. It's sad that most of our fellow citizens will be hoodwinked into believing that there will be thousands of permanent jobs and that all that sludge will lower our gas prices.
They say a fool and his money are soon parted! In this case there is no help for the brainwashed brain dead people that will believe the lies the Republicans will sell them for their own wallets by tying the pipeline into the tax cut extension for the middle class. The same middle class that pays an already inflated profit making price for the fuel they use everyday.

The freedom to pick and choose what you will buy and not buy is great, however, if you become overly dependent on something, it is you who gives power to those who provide it. It's popular for individuals to depict the oil companies as something just short of a Satan, but they forget it is their excessive dependence on what "Satan" provides that creates their misery.

So too with government.

Commit yourself to genuine independence as much as is practical and you remove much of the overbearing power of such things over your life. The best defence against the predator is to not be such willing prey.

haven't we seen this movie before? I think it started about 3 yrs ago i think it's called Just Say No. It's about how a republican president and a republican party bankrupt a country and think they can blame the democrats as long as they just say no to anything that sounds like would help the working people.

If Obama holds the line Boehner will have to cave again. There is no defensible reason to tie a pipeline approval to a tax cut for most Americans. Why stop the charge of the light brigade. If they want to slaughter themselves, it saves us the trouble.

Let them keep the payroll tax cut. Tax the rich to the max in return. What we lose in tax breaks, we will get in knowing our country is getting back on course. Poor little rich people is getting old. They walk the real streets of America? Get real. Not without body guards.
