It’s the wrong policy to have. Nothing wrong about Romney doing that. He will not pay more than the law requires. I don’t fault him for that in the least, but I do fault the law that allows him and me, earning enormous sums to pay over all federal taxes at a rate that is about half what the average person in my office pays.

I am not Romney supporter and never will be but all of rich Democrats in Washington do absolutely nothing to change the tax codes. Do they?

I was laughing last night watching the show put on by these corrupt, rich politicians. I am referring to the state of the union comedy show.

Our US tax structure is a construct of the rich -----------end of story on US taxes!
Our legal, judicial, financial, and taxation systems are dishonest and corrupt in the US. As is our election process---which is cause for rebellion!Take up arms and defend your country!

Buffett said "He (Romney) makes his money the same way I make my money". Now contrast Buffett's view on tax policies with those of Romney and who do you think is being honest?

This title is misleading. He's not attacking Romney, just the current tax laws.
You don't see romney attacking current tax laws because he wants Less Taxes. Because he believes in cutting taxes (depending on which day you ask him). - 4 months ago

I remember when he paid for a half hour national special where he talked Against the original Shrub cuts trying to defeat them saying that even then he was not being charged enough. The picture kept going out and getting really fuzzy and a loud buzz kept going in and out during the broadcast. I called my friend at the cable company and he said that there were No problems being reported to the technicians. He asked about it and was told that there was a problem with the feed they were getting. BS!!! I later saw the entire thing on the internet where there were No problems.
Buffett is one of the few .001%'ers that I would actually vote for. - 4 months ago

I think Buffett is kind of disingenuous on this. He could open his check book and pay whatever he wanted as could all the fat cats. For him to say we have to have a law or we won't do it, is kind of weasily.

He's doing it. This is from Bloomberg news:
"Buffett had offered a one-for-one match of any debt donations made by Republican members of Congress, with a three-for-one match for any money Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell voluntarily sent to the Treasury.
One Republican, Rep. Scott Rigell of Virginia was already donating 15 percent of his Congressional salary toward national debt reduction, and an "impressed" and "delighted" Buffett will be writing a check for just over $49,000 to match Rigell's 2011 and 2012 donations."

I have too many family and employers that justify what they do if they can cheat then I should cheat also it is only human nature
I do not work for them and I pay my taxes and support my teachers and I have a right to condemn those that i see cheating
I have witness those things that only get thru the production line by deliberate passing unsafe product to make the almighty buck to please the boss
If McDonald's would let me make their employee soda like they make my coffee
shit would hit the fan

Yes his philanthropy is admirable as is his attempt to get other 1%ers to do the same with their money. Where I take issue with him is his making money off the housing debacle, the TARP bailouts, and the corrupt credit rating agencies that he owns. Hopefully people realize that Bain capital got its business model (acquire distressed assets, lay off the workers, sell the assets) from Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway.
Again, I see no reason that he and the people who are influenced by him could not pay more if they saw it as an answer to the nation's problems (perhaps in the way they see their charitable contributions as helping to solve society's ills) without being forced to pay more by law.

Yes in my state we have several elective funds that taxpayers can pay extra towards. I did not do so on a federal level. For the record, I am not a 1%er.
I assume your point in asking me that question was to reveal some potential hypocrisy on my part?

Yes, he could certainly afford that extra zero. I think he's even richer than Romney and last I heard, he has been living in the same modest house for many years.
